The letter, transcribed

August 27, 1957 Dear Fran, I took your advice and looked up "American Bandstand." We get it over WSBA - York. From 3:00 to 4:30. I must agree. It's really good. Last winter on this same station they had a similar program called "Club 43." It was for the York area kids. There was one drawback though. You had to get tickets from different stores around town and by the time I got to one of those stores the tickets would be gone. But a friend gave me some tickets once so I went up. Right now they're playing "Honeycomb." It's a good song. I am enclosing a picture of myself. It's not very good though. We had those take in school this year. Don't forget to send me yours. We start school on the 4th (curses) but the Freshmen must go on the 3rd to see the school and everything. Well, we finally had rain! It came on Sunday and it sure did a lot of good. We should be moving in about 1 or 2 months. There have been about 2 or 3 offers for our house. The others were just curiosity seekers. The Country Club is having a Family Nite on Wed. nite. They are lots of fun. There is a buffett dinner at 6:00 and an orchestra from 7:30 to 10:30 for dancing. I thought Paula's party was a good one. Did you know that she taped it? Thats a dirty trick I think but I would do the same thing. Remember that "thing" I showed you at your house. Well, I put it on my bedroom floor and the maid came in and started to clean it up. And when it wouldn't clean she started to bawl out the dog! Well I gotta go now. "It's Love, Love, Love," Bob
