Bob to Fran

October 4, 1957

The letter, transcribed

October 4, 1957 Dear Fran, Sorry to hear you were sick. It's the first time I've heard of going to the hospital for a cold. What are your school hours? We have 9-45 min periods from 8:30 to 3:15. I went to the dance stag with all the other Freshmen. That's what they do for the first dance of the season down here. I agree that if your "favorite friend isn't handy, its fair and square to date someone else"! In football I was quarterback. I was going to one of our games in Glen Rock tomorrow night but no one else is going that I know. We played Harrisburg Catholic last Sunday and got beaten 33-6. That gives us a Won 1 Lost 2 record. We play 8 games. We aren't moving to Chicago now. We are going to Milwaukee! My father quit his position with Oliver Corp. and got a better one with Westinghouse Air Brake Co. I discovered the other day that we can get channell 15 and they carry American Bandstand until 5:00. My parents are spending the weekend in the Pocono Mt. so I intend to enjoy myself. Something good just came on T.V. so I think I'd better sign off. Lots of Love, Bob
