Bill Zech to Fran

January 18, 1958

The letter, transcribed

January, 18, 1958 Dear Fran, I just received your very convincing letter a couple of days ago. You can write a pretty good letter, but I guess Bob deserves part credit. Bob told me a lot about you, and imagine getting home at 2:45 A.M. for shame. I suppose you see a lot of Tony Beck since you must live so close together. I'm not sure exactly how this hilarious joke was made up, but if I know Bob, I guess I know how. I brought it in to school to show Bob his masterpiece and our civics (pardon the expression) Sister got hold of it. Luckily she didn't do anything about it. Oh well, thanks a lot for the letter Fran. I would like very much to meet you someday. Bob was telling me about you a couple of months ago and I was simply enchanted with your description. I'm not mad at you or Bob and I really would like to meet you Fran. Well, so long for now, lover, hope to hear from you. VERY VERY SINCERELY - Bill Zech
