Fran to Bob

The letter, transcribed

Saturday, January 25, 1958 Dear Bob, Hope you did well in your mid-years. I made high-honors last term. (This term just started.) What do you do at the parties you have? I always have a little trouble keeping things interesting! Do you dance or what? Hurry and send me that picture of you. How many sisters do you have? It's raining out now and all our snow has got that awful dirty look. Got a letter from Bill Zech about a week ago. He wants me to write to him. Do you mind? I haven't seen Tony since December & probably won't for a while, so will you please tell me what "73 and 88" mean? Through my French class I got a correspondent in France. We write to them in English & they answer us in French! I'll have to have my French teacher translate it for me! Is Whitefish Bay a very big place? We know some people in Wisconsin but I've never heard of this place. Is it anywhere near Milwaukee? Geri Wilde's cousin lives there. Are you coming to see Bob this summer? It would be great if you could! What's this about your Civics teacher seeing my letter to Bill Zech? Thank goodness it wasn't too bad. Well let me hear from you as soon as your settled in Whitefish Bay! Love ya lots, (still) Fran
